Pip Colourwork by Baa Ram Ewe
About Pip Colourwork by Baa Ram Ewe
The rich tradition of stranded knitting in Shetland has always been admired and in recent years has grown in popularity but perhaps less well known is the history of Yorkshire colourwork which was once a thriving industry. Baa Ram Ewe has produced their own yarn for colourwork, which is made from British wool and is spun and processed in Yorkshire.
Pip Colourwork is a handy 25g size and knits to a standard 4 ply weight, it is, as you would expect, a sturdy yarn, with a soft handle but the sticky qualities to make this ideal for stranded knitting and steeking. The colour range is currently 18 rich and attractive shades, designed to work well together. This yarn will work to 4 ply patterns designed for Spindrift and Palette.
