Ginny Cowl by Susanne Sommer
Ginny Cowl by Susanne Sommer
This pattern is electronic and will be sent to you directly from Ravelry.
Four colours, combined in Brioche and Garter stitch, form a Gingham or Buffalo plaid pattern.
Ginny can be knit as a large cowl that loops around the neck twice or as a classic scarf.
The cowl and scarf have the same construction: both are knit flat in two-colour Brioche and Garter stitch. The cowl is created by seaming the short sides of the scarf (cast-on and bind-off edges) together after blocking.
A textural checkboard pattern is created by switching between Brioche and Garter stitch. Then, using colours, the checkerboard turns into a buffalo plaid/gingham pattern.
You can make a more traditional two-colour Gingham version by using the same colour for MC2, CC1, and CC2.
