BERGAMO is a five-ply twisted SUPERLIGHT yarn made of superfine merino wool with 18.5 microns and 25% baby alpaca in Aran weight. The carded yarn with a meterage of 65 m on only 25 g (71 yd. on 0.88 oz.) gets its unique lightness through an innovative manufacturing method and the temperature-regulating and breathable properties of the merino wool are supported once again positively. The addition of baby alpaca makes it even softer, and the wool fluff is reinforced by the characteristic alpaca fluff. This results in a stitch effect with a subtly soft cuddly look.

Gorgeous yarn and perfect customer service!

Wool purchase

Feels Like Cashmere

Firstly, thank you to Tina for her excellent service and updates on my order.
I chose the Rose Quartz which is a soft delicate hint of a tint pink, a neutral, which is why in the end I changed my mind on pattern and decided this yarn would make a lovely shawl. It may be 75% Superfine Merino / 25% Alpaca but it feels like Cashmere. I agree with Tina that this yarn is on the heavier side of DK and it has good stitch definition. I would knit with this yarn again.
