COOMO Cardigan by ANKESTRiCK

For the super cozy COOMO cardigan my goal was a newer interpretation of the super classic cardigans in fishermen’s rib. It still has the classic look, but the V-back construction with the overlapping back neck (like I’ve used in the GARDEN cardigan before) give some appealing extra to it and I wanted this cardi stays effortlessly in place on the shoulders.

The COOMO Cardigan is worked seamlessly from the top down. You start working the back for the length of the armhole. Then you pick up stitches for the front and work both fronts symmetrically for the length of the armhole. Then you join back and fronts to work the body in stitch pattern down to the bottom ribbing. Pick up the sleeve sts to work the sleeves flat in stitch pattern.

The garment is intended to be worn with approx. 25 cm (9¾”) of positive ease for smaller sizes and narrow bodies and gradually less positive ease for larger sizes and busty girls.

GAUGE
19 sts x 54 rows/rds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 in Fishermen’s rib after blocking / steam blocking.

SUGGESTED NEEDLES/CROCHET HOOK
Main needle: 3 - 3.25mm (US2.5-3) (depending on your knitting tension) 40 cm (16”) and at least 80 cm (32”) circulars. Crochet hook in the same size

12 (13, 14, 15, 16)(17, 18, 19, 20) balls of Lamana Como (100% merino wool), 120m (131yds)/25g. Colour: 57M
Or m/yds: 1430/1560 (1530/1670, 1660/1830, 1780/1950, 1900/2080)(2030/2220, 2150/2350, 2270/2480, 2400/2620)) of comparable yarn.
A lightweight woollen yarn is recommended. You also can add a thread of silk mohair to a light-fingering yarn
